I am working on a new research project tentatively titled, “Radical Roots, Restricted Realities: Race, Reform, and the Suburbs of Silicon Valley in Postwar California.” It extends my previous work on the Ladera Housing Cooperative. If you are interested in this topic or mid-century California land use policies, I can recommend an excellent paper by Hilary Botein on the instrumental role of labor unions to develop affordable housing in the San Francisco Bay Area — https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/1538513215608096by
I’m also completing a close examination of corporate technology headquarters — their design theories and evolution, which I presented in a series of lectures last year.
